Howard Johnson Express Inn - Groton

I would use Priceline, but I would never use this hotel again. The floors were not vacuumed and the fridge has mildew along the whole top gasket and the thing that bothered me the most was getting ready to get in bed and pulling the bedspread back and finding a dirty towel and a half smoked cigarette butt on the floor at the edge of the bed. The toilet where very short our non smoking room smelled of stale cigarettes (nasty) the hall ways where full of cigarette smoke being masked with so type of deodorant. Paper thin walls could here the people in the next room as well as the people up stairs. ...read more

Very good room. It was clean and just what I needed, bed and shower, for a stop-over.

Although it wasn't fancy, the staff was very friendly, the manager was accommodating, it was affordable and met our needs for this brief trip. Great location, very quiet.

Not a god place to stay, not a very quiet location. Had trouble with the room door, it had to be reprogrammed. the desk person was rude, acted like I didn't know how to open the door. Cheap rate close to Mystic, but neighborhood is desolate with an old shopping strip next store. Room was basic but there was a lot of mold on the bathroom ceiling. The complimentary breakfast room was not bad. ...read more

Was ok for what we needed it for, bed was hard, too much air freshener or something in room. Check in and check out was simple
